I would like to begin this last week of blogging by sharing a news item that relates to the Tremiti islands, where you meet in September. A few days ago a group of refugees landed on the island of Capraia. It is 18 iraqi kurds: 4 men, 5 women, 9 children (4 males and 5 females). A child is a paraplegic, a child has health issues (appears to have vomited blood), all the others are apparently in good health. Immediately they started isoccorsi with the police, harbour master and men of the Marlin Tremiti diving center of the island. The group of refugees that seems to come with a sailing boat set sail from Turkey, have been refreshed, visited by the medical staff of the “118” and hosted in the multipurpose Center of San Domino made available by the city.
